on 2017-06-03 06:02 pm (UTC)Actually, on my flight to WisCon I sat next to a 7ish year old girl who on takeoff scrolled through the in flight entertainment and immediately exclaimed, "Daddy! It's my favorite movie!" and proceeded to spend the entire flight rewatching Hidden Figures. In that moment, I thought to myself 'omg how can something so adorable be happening right in front of me and my very own eyeballs.' Your vid brought that very same feeling back 'omg this is amazing and it is happening right in front of me and my very own eyeballs,' so thank you.
I also want to say that I really appreciated your video for the Tiptree award winner's speech. As someone who hasn't read When the Moon Was Ours (yet), it was a lovely introduction to Anna-Marie McLemore's prose and served as another goad to seek out her work.
Thank you!

on 2017-07-26 10:14 pm (UTC)í watched this movie a few days ago and it was really lovely.
the song choice really fit, (along for the bonus of the singer playing one of the roles)
my fav lyric matches were: "They say: Let them eat cake!"with the "coloured" caffe pot "They keep us underground"with her shoe stuck "Well I'mma keep leading like a young Harriet Tubman"with teh triump, and all the other ladies she helped.
my fav part was the end were it spreads into the historic context.
sorry for the messy comment, my words dont want to work right now.
